To build the foundation for your Pioneer Steel structure, you need to consider several factors. These include the location and the purpose of the structure.

The area should be level and clear of obstructions. Consult your dealer about the type of foundation you will need for your steel building. Below are several options.

CONCRETE TROUGH

Your steel building is placed into a concrete trough, then a concrete-grout mix is used to fill in the trough. You can finish the grout mixture at a slope away from the steel building to facilitate water drainage.

BASEPLATE AND FLOOR

Pioneer Steel Buildings’ foundation baseplates provide excellent stability for your steel building. The biggest benefit of this foundation type is that it removes the trough.

This also makes the footing narrower and uses less concrete. This results in cost savings.

Pioneer Steel is the only steel building manufacturer that offers industrial baseplates. These baseplates are welded with double bolts. This design gives a stronger base connection. For more details, see Accessories.

BASEPLATE AND PIER FOUNDATION

By installing concrete piers or screw piles in the ground, you can give your foundation the strength it needs. This will help support your Pioneer Steel building.

You can install a concrete grade beam or steel beams on top of the piers or screw piles. You then bolt the Pioneer baseplate onto these beams. Then subsequently attach the panels to the baseplate.

RAISED CONCRETE

This foundation allows you to gain additional sidewall height while maintaining maximum stability for your metal building. Your concrete wall should be at least 10 inches wide.

You will attach a Pioneer Steel baseplate to it. Check the Accessories for more details.

The steel building panels are bolted to the baseplate. Customers who use this style of foundation often raise their steel buildings 2' to 6'.
