Carbon neutrality and sustainable green building design has been a hot topic in the media, and for good reason. As a top steel building manufacturer, we lead the way with our pre-engineered steel buildings.
Pioneer Steel buildings reduce waste because they last longer. They also use energy more efficiently with heat-reflective materials and options like skylights. Our clear-span designs lower the need for extra materials, such as ductwork for HVAC systems.
Pioneer Steel uses only AZ180 (AZ60) Galvalume Plus™ coated steel when manufacturing our pre-engineered steel buildings. Galvalume Plus™ offers exceptional corrosion resistance and heat reflectivity, resulting in lower energy load and improved comfort.
Pioneer Steel also chooses to use Galvalume Plus™ steel because it has recycled content. You can also recycle it after use for further steel construction. This helps reduce waste and pollution. It also lowers Pioneer Steel’s carbon footprint, which helps yours too.
The total recycled content in Canadian steel for Pioneer Steel buildings is at least 25%. It can be more than 95% based on the steel-making process. Both these values represent industry leading levels of recycled content.
Steel is the most recycled material in the world. In North America, companies recycle or send more than 70 million tons of steel for recycling each year.
The Galvalume Plus™ coating protects buildings from uneven weathering. Its bright surface helps reflect heat and lowers energy use.
Pioneer Steel’s Galvalume Plus™ coating meets the EPA solar reflectance requirement. It has a rating of 0.65 for new steel buildings. For roofs older than three years, it maintains a minimum rating of 0.50. The Energy Star program has approved Galvalume Plus™ coated steel for both low-slope and high-slope applications.
The Galvalume Plus™ coating also acts as a thermal barrier to keep the insides of steel buildings cool in summer. Pioneer's prefabricated steel buildings use less energy. This saves you money and lowers your environmental impact. You will have reduced energy costs over the life of the building.
Pioneer Steel's prefab buildings reflect heat in summer. They also retain warmth during colder months. This reduces heating expenses. It helps maintain a healthy and comfortable indoor environment all year round.
Our teams of engineers and designers build our prefab steel buildings with the environment and the future in mind. These buildings easily fit new energy-efficient windows, HVAC systems, and insulation. They can also support solar systems. This helps lower electrical use and reduces stress on the power grid.
Our steel manufacturer is less than 50 km from our facility. This means we have lower transport costs for raw materials. It also reduces traffic on the highways and cuts down vehicle emissions compared to many competitors.
Pioneer's steel building kits are completely recyclable once they are no longer needed. This shows our strong commitment to the environment. This commitment has always been a priority for us.
